Rapid self-protection countermeasures
When cycling: When riding a bicycle or motorcycle, stop cycling, find a shelter (eg under a bridge) or squat quickly and keep a distance of at least 1 meter and preferably 3 meters from your vehicle.
Inside the car: As the case of the Faraday Cage, the metal body of the car provides complete protection. If it is assumed that there is a heavy rain or thunder, it is recommended to stop nearby and wait until the storm disappears, to avoid lightning affecting the sight and causing the vehicle to lose control.
Inside the aircraft: Under normal circumstances, the aircraft will not be subject to lightning strikes on land and in the air, because the aircraft is also a representative case of the Faraday cage. However, aircraft oscillations are far more dangerous than lightning strikes themselves, which is why experienced pilots try to avoid thunderstorm clouds.
Note: When the interval between lightning and thunder is less than 15 seconds, please do not leave your vehicle.
